COURT DECISIONS ARISING FROM THE BILL OF RIGHTS

1.

I attach a further note from John Leung on cases in which Hong Kong Ordinances have been challenged on grounds of inconsistency with the Bill of Rights. I should be grateful for your thoughts on these cases, in particular in regard to any likely Chinese reaction.

2.

I have written to Mr Bradley in similar terms, and have asked for a copy of the judgement referred to in paragraph 2 of Mr Leung's minute.
