2. WIAD seldom has to deal with petitions to The Queen, but if we have to, I agree with the conclusions reached by
Ms Coglin and Miss Brooks, viz, that petitions which are minor, trivial or perverse need not be submitted to the Palace but can be determined at AUS level. The March 1990 edition of DSP Volume 4 (previously Vol 8?) Chapter 9 makes this clear. There are separate rules for dealing with petitions from lunatics (Chapter 9.9) and aliens (Chapter 9.5.7 to 9.5.10).
