We are writing to bring to your attention our concerns regard- ing the situation of foreign domestic helpers in Hong Kong.
As a result of a Workshop held in September this year in Hong Kong, a Petition was drawn up and presented to OMELCO (Office of Members of the Executive and Legislative Councils) on October 30th.
Briefly, our concerns focus upon the restrictions of the foreign domestic helpers' employment contract, particularly relating to the requirement that workers must return to their country of origin within 14 days after termination of contract for any
reason.
We cordially request that you read our Petition, and hope that you will lend your support to our argument that these overtly un- just and discriminatory restrictions must be abolished.
