XI. WORKING PARTY

A Working Party should be appointed as soon as possible to work with Government on the establishment of the Register. (HKGCC)

A working party should be appointed as soon as possible to work with Government on the establishment of the Register. Representatives from Government and from the HKSOA should be members of the working party. In recommending members of the Association to the working party, the Association will take into account local operators of shipping services within the territory as well as the operators of ocean-going ships. This working party could, in respect of administrative, technical and personnel matters, seek the views of appropriate professional and other organisations. (HKSOA)

The formation of a working party to work on the proposed Register is supported. However, this must be broad based and have representatives of seafarers organisations as well as shipowners sitting on it as fundamental ideas will have to be formulated. (MNOG)

The Hong Kong trade unions should be represented on

the working party. (ITF)
