Hong Kong: Declaration of ILO Conventions

Thank you for your letter of 15 August 1990 addressed to Mr. Hammond who is presently on leave.
As we understand it, IL Conventions ratified by the United Kingdom Government but as yet to be applied to Hong Kong include the following:
i.e.
(i)
ILC No. 23
Repatriation of Seamen
Convention, 1926;
-
(ii) ILC No. 126 Accommodation of Crews
(Fishermen) Convention, 1966; and
(iii) ILC No. 160 Labour Statistics
Convention, 1985.
Our recommendations on the declaration of application in respect of the first two conventions, ILC No. 23 and No. 126, are at the advanced stage of preparation and will be forward to you as soon as they are finalised. Action in respect of ILC No. 160 has commenced and the recommendation on declaration should be finalised by early 1991.
