Eligibility for membership
Open to all member nations of IPFC. Each member government to designate one expert as member, plus an alternate and an adviser.
Terms of reference
To advise IPFC on scientific matters relating to the development and rational utilization of the fish resources in the Indo-Pacific
region.

In particular:
to advise on the state of resources and of the fisheries based on them;
to encourage research in the fields of biology, technology, socio-economics and related disciplines; and
(c) to encourage the improvement of national statistics in the
region.
