6. To turn now to the papers you sent me for comment. far as I know paras 1-6 are factually correct except that (para 4) Hong Kong did not attend all the post-1969 meetings (certainly not the 1985 one). I cannot confirm para 5 regarding Hong Kong's involvement post 1997.

The fact that China is presumably on the brink of full membership must affect Hong Kong's position post-1997. not qualified to comment on this but could imagine that if China became a full member Hong Kong's interests might become subsumed in those of China as a whole and be represented by the China delegation (which could I suppose include Hong Kong). I certainly support the views expressed in paras 7-10 on the benefits to Hong Kong of continued involvement in the APPPC at some level.

8. I am sorry not to be able to be of more help, but, as I said earlier, my involvement has been intermittent and peripheral. The problem seems to be that this applies to everyone else as well. If I can be of further assistance please let me know.
