The scope of social welfare work in

1. Social Welfare Service Units
The urban social welfare service units under the
management of the Ministry of Civil Affairs include social
welfare institutions, children's welfare institutions and
psychiatric
hospitals. At

different kinds of social welfare institutes are run by the
Ministry of Civil Affairs, with 73,600 beneficiaries.
(i) Social Welfare Institutes.
These
institutes
mainly take care of the elderly who belong to the
group of the 'three have-nots' (those whose have
no one το depend on, the homeless and those who
have no source of income).
These institutes,
being units providing comprehensive social
services, also accept some disabled children and
mental patients.

institutes
beneficiaries.
