Mr. Michael PALMER
Mr. Michael Palmer was born in Oxford, England, in
1944. He obtained the qualification of B.Sc. (London) in
1967, M.A. (London) 1968 and LL.B. (Cambridge) 1978.
He has taught at the University of Cambridge, City
University (London), and the School of Oriental and African
Studies (London University). He is trained in both social anthropology and law. He joined the Legal Policy. Division
in the Attorney General's Chambers in Hong Kong as 2
Consultant in October 1990.
Mr. Palmer is interested in, inter alia, Chinese
family law and Chinese approaches to dispute settlement.
In his capacity as Lecturer in Law at SOAS he is the
Academic Convenor of the "Practical Training Scheme for
Young Chinese Lawyers, a scheme organized in conjunction
with the Ministry of Justice of the People's Republic of
China.
