A: INDIVIDUALS
Personal information is kept only on Communist Chinese officials based in Hong Kong or Macao. This includes basic biographical information on their whole career, including that on the mainland, and is drawn from similar sources to those used for the Chinese index (primarily the press and SWB, supplemented by material from official sources). The aim is to provide basic biographical information on senior Chinese Communist officials dealing with Hong Kong, together with information from other sources to fill out the bare details. Those Chinese officials dealing with Hong Kong, but based on the mainland have hitherto been kept in the separate main index for China. All will in future be kept on the same database, but there will be a special category for those serving in Hong Kong.
We also keep records of those Hong Kong people who are delegates to the NPC or the CPPCC in China.
