Thank you for your letter of 29 January 1991 addressed to Mrs Judy Ching who has taken up a new post dealing with the British Nationality Selection Scheme.
I have not received any information concerning Hong Kong Certificate of Identity not being recognised as a valid travel document by the Spanish authority or other countries.
We have written to the local Spanish Consulate for clarification and their reply is still awaited. So far, the Consulate is still accepting visa applications made by holders of the Hong Kong Certificate of Identity.

But, in view of the time lapsed, I think it would be better to let you know the present position. I shall write to you again once a reply is received from the Consulate.
