You may remember that the Anglo-Hong Kong Trust was set up in 1988 and was launched with a grand dinner at Lancaster House hosted by Simon Glenarthur and David Young for the Government.
Recently the Trust has arranged for the donation to The South Bank Centre in London of £400,000 by two of the Trust's Council Members. To celebrate this Mr Li Ka-Shing has agreed that Hutchison Whampoa should sponsor a concert on Monday 11th February at the Royal Festival Hall organised by the Anglo-Hong Kong Trust and the Chinese Cultural Centre and this will be followed by a supper at the Royal Festival Hall. Princess Alexandra has already accepted an invitation to be present as has the Chinese Ambassador. Unfortunately KS cannot be here but Simon Murray is coming over for the occasion.
We do hope that you and Judith will be able to come both to the concert and supper. We have tried to make the occasion as informal lounge suits, concert starts at 7.30pm, supper finished
as possible
by 10.30pm.

As you will see from the enclosed programme the music is strictly occidental and very digestible, but the soloists and conductor are from Hong Kong and also from the P.R.C. as we want to get the Chinese gradually involved.
