to advise the Government in respect of matters
relating to programmes designed for broadcasting to
educational institutions.
(2) In subsection (1) (a) "sound broadcasting" means
transmitting sound (otherwise than as part of a television
broadcast) for general reception by means of radio waves.
7.
Duties of the Corporation
(1) In carrying out its objects under section 6(1)(a) and (b)
the Corporation shall use its best endeavours to provide or produce
a mixed and balanced output of programmes for radio
which cater for the needs and interests of different
sections of the community of Hong Kong;

a mixed and balanced output of programmes for
television, but with an emphasis on the production of
public affairs programmes;
news and public affairs programmes that reflect in an
accurate, balanced and objective manner the views of
different sections of the public and of the
Government;
programmes designed to encourage and promote interest
in culture, language, music and the other arts;
programmes designed to encourage participation in
community affairs of Hong Kong.
The Corporation shall also use its best endeavours, in
providing or producing programmes in accordance with subsection (1),
to ensure that such programmes inform, educate and entertain.
