Dear

Den In Deni's,

When we met at Oxford on 10 May you asked about a possible UK home for an archive of Hong Kong and British newspaper cuttings on the future of Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong experts in the office have suggested two possibilities:

The Centre for Modern Chinese Studies at Oxford

(Belsyre Court, 57 Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6FA) where an academic called Steve Tsang is engaged on a project relating to modern Hong Kong;

The Contemporary China Institute at SOAS in London. The Director, Bob Ash, is apparently interested in getting a research project on Hong Kong off the ground.

Other possibilities might be: Chatham House; the LSE; The University of Leeds; or the Northumbrian Universities' East Asia Centre at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
