I should be most grateful if you would confirm that no weight will in future be given to such misleading comparisons. The Hong Kong Government and H.M.G have an undeniable joint and several responsibility to find a way to maintain the sterling purchasing power of Hong Kong Government pensions paid to former civil servants resident in this country. The search for a solution to this problem should not be distracted by misleading comparisons and dare I say it, unjustified envy.
