Thank you for your letter of 15 May enclosing a copy of your letter of 9 May to Keith Shipley about arrangements for HMOCS members. We have taken careful note of the concerns expressed in that letter and we fully appreciate the vital role HMOCS members play in the Administrative Service, the Police and other Government Departments. I can assure you that it is not our intention to allow this issue to languish: we and the Hong Kong Government are endeavouring to resolve it as quickly and effectively as possible.
