Cessation of Membership and Expulsion

4.7

A member may resign from the Association by giving written notice to the Membership Secretary.

4.8

A Member shall forfeit his membership if :-

(a)

(b)

he fails to pay any subscription or other sum due to the Association within 30 days of it becoming due; or

upon temination of his employment with the HKG, and forfeiture of his entitlement to a pension.

provided always that the Committee may without assigning any reason for

its decision :

-

(i)

extend the period for payment of subscriptions or other sum as

it thinks fit;

(ii) allow such person to be an ASSOCIATE Member.

4.9

If the Committee is of the opinion that the continued membership in the Association of any Member is contrary to the Association's best interests it may address that Member in writing, stating its reasons in such detail that the Member is aware of the case against him, and inviting him to make representations in writing within such time, as the Committee may prescribe, being not less than 14 days, as to why he should not be expelled. The Committee shall not reach any final decision until it has received and considered the Member's representations or until the time limit for such representations has expired.
