HONG KONG: COMPENSATION PAYMENTS FOR HMOCS MEMBERS

You asked for figures showing the amount of money individuals would be likely to get under our compensation/incentive scheme proposals.

2. The attached figures, prepared by the ODA, show how much an "average" Administrative Officer (AO) and Police Officer would get: we have used an AO staff Grade "C" (like

Mr Stone) and a Chief Inspector. The figures also show, for comparison purposes, how much such officers would have got under a "traditional" general compensation scheme. The reason the former figures are much lower is because the assumption is that all officers can remain in service. higher factors would apply if there was compulsory retirement.

You will see that the amount of compensation a Chief Inspector of the RHKPF would receive, if he stayed for eight years (£61,588.80), would be more or less in line with that received by a Kenyan Chief Inspector (£67,890.15), updated
