currently serving HMOCS members against adverse fluctuating exchange rates in the future: it would only take into account losses incurred below the original sterling value of the basic pension calculated at the date of retirement. It would therefore make good some of the loss in the value of the basic pension and would stabilise the pensioners monthly payment as long as the Hong Kong pension increases exceeded the reduction in the sterling value of the basic pension.
The ODA want a reform of SPOS to be included alongside compensation and sterling safeguards, as part of the package for HMOCS members.
