NOTE ON MR RICHARD ALLEN CHIEF EXECUTIVE OF AIRPORT
AUTHORITY
Mr Allen attended Wyggeston Boys Grammar in Leicestershire before going to Loughborough College where he gained an honours degree in civil engineering. Until his present appointment he has worked throughout his career for Kier Limited, (now C H Beazer Plc). He joined Kier in 1962, working as an engineer on power stations, port projects, and
transport projects. From 1986-1989 he was Chairman and
Chief Executive of Kier Ltd. Mr Allen has a wealth of practical experience both as an engineer and as a manager of major projects in the Carribean, the Middle East, India and in the North Sea. He has an MSC in construction management from Stamford University. He arrived in Hong Kong to take up his present appointment to the Airport Authority in March
1991.
