bidding for sub-contracts and supply

orders; facilitate joint venture and other

co-operative arrangements between UK

companies and indigenous firms.

Disseminate throughout the UK, detailed

information on opportunities, procurement

methods and organisations, and other

relevant data including contract awards.

Tools

Newsletter, Seminars, Database [and use of

consultant to assist in establishing

appropriate working level contacts with

procurement teams].

Background

Extension of initiative on Channel Tunnel.

UK won over £1.1 billion of orders; 78% by

value on UK side, 50% overall.

By end of October TML had placed over

101,000 sub-contracts and supply orders

for UK works worth £1.4 billion; half of

this total value (£700 million) was

accounted for by just 168 orders thus

illustrating the scope and potential workh

of smaller orders and sub-contracts on

major projects.
