PADS is in effect a number of large but related high cost projects

offering opportunities at prime contractor, main contractor, sub-

contractor and supplier level and extensive requirements for

professional services. The project is high profile and companies

successful in winning business will benefit in other world markets as

a result of their involvement in such a prestigious project.

To maximise involvement and UK potential the opportunities need to be

drawn to the attention of UK civil engineering, manufacturing and

service companies ranging from major groups to small businesses

across a broad spectrum of UK industry. To achieve this objective it

is essential to uncover in the first instance the basic and diverse

information about the project. This should be sufficient to allow

each company within this wide cross-section of UK industry to

recognise the potential which the project offers for its particular

product or services. However, such information must be gathered from
