Interviewee Background

A total of 2,507 persons were interviewed, with one-third of them being female. The sample is therefore male-biased, reflecting the male-dominated society of Hong Kong.
The interview focussed on adults, with over 92% of the interviewees above 21 years old.
As the interview was carried out in Kowloon, most of the respondents were Kowloon residents. with only 228 living outside the said area.

About 26% of the interviewees were either employees. professsionals or management executives. About 698 were in other professions. Less then 68 were students.
About 79% of the interviews had a secondary education or above. Less then 18% attended only primary school.
Public Concern and Knowledge
5. A high 98.2% of the interviewees were aware of the Government's proposal of building a new airport. An equally high 94% of the respondents agreed that the issue deserve public concern. Almost 798, however, argued that the Government should release
release all or part of the pertinent information about the PADS projects. Only 12.18 of them felt that public consultation on these huge project was
unnecessary.
