Schroders acted as financial advisor to GEC Turbine Generators and the British Government's Department of Trade and Industry for the Daya Bay Project and was one of the six Managing Banks who arranged the associated £421 million UK Export Credit which was signed with the Bank of China in Beijing in 1986. Additionally, Schroders was appointed financial advisors to the Hong Kong Nuclear Investment Company Limited (HKNIC) in connection with its 25% participation in the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Project and has a continuing role as advisor to HKNIC in financial discussions and negotiations concerning the development of the Project. Schroders raised a HK$500 million facility for HKNIC to provide partial finance for its equity participation in the Project.
