Thank you for your fax of 17 January. I saw Bob Milner while he was here and we had a good discussion on the bid.
I have been trying to glean whatever I can from the Hong Kong authorities since his departure. I understand that some of your competitors are being invited for clarification meetings before the end of this month. They implied, without specifically saying so, that you had not been invited yet, although they were aware of Bob Milner's hope that you could be given two weeks' notice if required. My contact said that if they do need to discuss clarification with you it is unlikely that they would be able to give that much notice although they would do their best.
