Further probing of the authorities concerned suggests that my faxed message to you of 5 February may have been too gloomy.
I am now assured that no significance can be attached to whether or not companies are called to clarification meetings.
Thus, even if you have not been called to such meetings you may well still be in the hunt. I certainly hope so.
I am assured that everything is on course, that the bids are still being evaluated, and that nothing more is likely to happen other than possible minor exchanges on details of bids submitted, until the winning bid is announced. The Marine Department still
expect to be able to put forward a recommendation to the Central Tender Board by the end of March.
