Hong Kong's Governor,
Sir David Wilson, led Hong
Kong's delegation to CeBIT '91
in Hanover.
In the EEC, where the economy achieved a relatively high growth rate of 3%, Hong Kong's total exports, underpinned by a 49% surge in re-exports, rose 25% over 1989. Riding on a predominantly pro-business atmosphere and high consumer demand, the TDC executed a diverse promotional programme, encompassing 50 events, throughout the region, aimed at both the trade and the general consumer
One of the highlights was the participation of Hong Kong as Business Partner at CeBIT, the world's largest information technology fair in Hanover in March, 1991. The opportunity enabled the TDC to or- ganise a presentation of Hong Kong's of- fice, information and telecommunications technology to an international audience of 600,000 professionals in the trade, buyers and media. His Excellency The Governor
of Hong Kong, Sir David Wilson, led the Hong Kong delegation to CeBIT '91 and was the keynote speaker at the opening ceremony, which was held at the Hanover Opera House and attended by many dignitaries, including the German Federal Minister of Economics, Mr Juergen Moelleman, the Prime Minister of Lower Saxony and the Lord Mayor of Hanover.
