The Licence

The

two

subscription TV licence (the Licence) will consist of

parts covering both broadcasting and telecommunication

(technical) aspects. This is a departure from the cable

licence as envisaged previously where two separate licences

were to be issued to the cable licensee.

It is not

proposed to adopt this dual-licensing approach

subscription TV because on this occasion we will not

require the Licensee to provide a second telecommunication

network.

If in future the Licensee wants to provide

telecommunication services it will have to apply for

approval separately from the Telecommunications Authority

(TA), and such application will be considered on its

merits. The Licence will be valid for a period

of 12 years with a mid-term review after 6 years.
