Exercise of Powers under Section 52
By a letter dated 5 July 1991 the Financial Secretary has advised that he considers, it in the public interest for me to exercise the powers provided to me by section 52 of the Ordinance in respect of the Bank of Credit and Commerce Hong Kong Limited ("the
Institution").
Pursuant to section 52 (1) (A), and after consultation with the Financial Secretary, I hereby require the Inst: tution to take the following actions and to do the following acts or things forthwith:

Not to increase the size of the loan book of the Institution beyond its present level or otherwise effect, or undertake to effect, any net increase in the financial exposure of the Institution to its. customers.
Not to pledge or secure, or undertake to pleige or secure, any asset of the Insitution, whether as security for an obl..gation of the Institution or otherwise, without the written consent of the Commissioner.
