Mr Chamberlain, hop at Advisers

Referring to the last two sentences of Sir David Gillmore's letter of 12 September, the Inquiry now wishes to approach the relevant authorities in Hong Kong and Gilbraltar. Once again, I should be most grateful if you would let me have a note of the appropriate person (and address) to whom Lord Justice Bingham should write. În due course, the letters will be forwarded to you on the same basis as were those sent under cover of my letter of 20 September.

For the record, I wish to confirm that Lord Justice Bingham and I propose to visit the United States of America at the end of last month. We hope to meet representatives of the US Department of Justice, the Federal Reserve Board and others. You may wish to inform the Ambassador in Washington of this visit.

If you consider it appropriate, I shall be happy to let you have more precise details of the visit for transmission to the Embassy.

It is possible that Lord Justice Bingham and I will visit Abu Dhabi in due course although we have no firm plans at present. Neither do we have firm plans for visiting any other countries. shall keep you posted on any visits abroad.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely

?
