US/CHINA TRADE RELATIONS
1. We were surprised that FCO telno 1294 to Peking, repeated to Hong Kong and others, made no mention of Hong Kong in the context of US/China trade relations.
2.
As you know we have a strong interest in this subject,
and I would be grateful if future such telegrams could make
it clear that Hong Kong's concerns in this area are high on
our agenda.
