Communications.

In addition to internal communications,

dedicated and secure telegraph and voice, communications will be required to the UK until the time of final departure. A decision has yet to be made on whether HQBF will be required to vacate the Prince

of Wales Building. If this is necessary, communications could be

provided relatively easily at any land

land based

based site. There will

however, come a time, whether a move from the present HQ building is necessary or not, when international secure communications will need

to be moved from a static site in anticipation of the final handover.

It is at this point that it would be sensible for the command element

of the HQ to be based aboard a ship with appropriate communications

facilities. The remainder of the HQ could continue to be land based

and reduce as each functional area ceases.
