An additional reduction within GTR of about one squadron.
About 15% of the supply logistics service.
The removal of one RMP duty room.
The closure of all schools, AECs and all but one library.
A major rationalisation of medical facilities, reducing the number of medical and dental centres and, possibly, the size
of BMH by about 40%.
The virtual disbandment of the FHWS organisation.
Withdrawal of the Third Battalion. The potential manpower reductions within Army supporting Arms and Services following the withdrawal of the third battalion are still subject to further study. It is in fact likely at this stage that some families will have already left the Territory and that accompanied service has all but stopped, therefore many of the major reductions will have taken place. Nevertheless, combat support and combat service support units will be
able to reduce to form part of the infrastructure which remains to
support the UK battalion group. This support element is likely to include engineer, communications, mobility, supply, maintenance, provost, medical and other supporting assets, although these will have to be quantified after close examination of the prevailing situation.
