Mr. Allen Lee, CBE
Mr. Allen Lee is the President of Meadville Ltd, a leading Hong Kong electronics manufacturer. He is a member of the Executive Council and Senior Member of the Legislative Council in Hong Kong. He is a past Chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, the Hong Kong Productivity Council, and the Electronics Industry Training Board; and has served on the governing bodies of various tertiary education establishments.
The Rt Hon Lord Young of Graffham, PC
Lord Young is Executive Chairman of Cable & Wireless Plc and Chairman of Hong Kong Telecom. He was a member of the Thatcher administration, serving as Secretary of State for Employment and then Secretary of State for Trade and Industry. Lord Young has taken a close personal interest in Hong Kong and the People's Republic of China, where he led five British trade missions between 1985 and 1989.
Mr. Stephen Cheong, CBE
Mr. Stephen Cheong is the Managing Director of Lee Wah Weaving Factory Ltd, and a member of the Legislative Council in Hong Kong. He is Chairman of the Council of the Hong Kong Polytechnic, The Vocational Training Council, The Hong Kong Industrial Estates Corporation Board, and the Federation of Hong Kong Industries General Committee. Mr. Cheong also serves on a number of Hong Kong Government trade and industry committees, and he is a member of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
Professor Edward Chen
Professor Edward Chen is the Director of the Centre of Asian Studies and Honorary Professor of Economics at the University of Hong Kong; he is also a member of the Legislative Council in Hong Kong. He has held visiting posts at Oxford, Yale and other universities, and he has been a consultant to a variety of United Nations and regional agencies. Professor Chen serves on a number of Hong Kong Government advisory committees, and is active in community affairs.
Mr. Richard Margolis
Mr. Richard Margolis is the Managing Director, Corporate Finance, of Smith New Court (Far East) Ltd. His fourteen years in HM Diplomatic Service included a posting at the British Embassy in Beijing, and from 1981 to 1986 he was seconded to the Hong Kong Government as Deputy Political Adviser, when he was involved in Sino- British negotiations on the future of Hong Kong.
Dr. Raymond Ch'ien
Dr. Raymond Ch'ien is Group Managing Director of Nam Soon (HK) Ltd., a Hong Kong company active in the food and electronic product sectors. He is an office holder of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, and the Hong Kong Management Association. Dr. Ch'ien is Chairman of the Provisional Hong Kong Industrial Technology Centre Co Ltd, and he serves on a number of trade and industry advisory committees.
Mr. Henry Tang
Mr. Henry Tang is Managing Director of the leading textile company Peninsular Knitters Ltd., which has production facilities in Hong Kong, China and the UK. He is also a member of the Legislative Council in Hong Kong. Mr. Tang serves on a number of Hong Kong Government advisory committees, and on the Garment Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
Dr. Victor Fung, OBE
Dr. Victor Fung is the Chairman of Prudential Asia, the Asian investment and merchant banking arm of the Prudential Insurance Company of America; and he serves as non-executive Chairman of Li & Fung, a leading Hong Kong-based regional trading company. Dr. Fung is a member of Hong Kong's Public Service Commission and the Securities and Futures Commission. He was appointed Chairman of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council in October 1991; in this capacity he is responsible for formulating the strategy for expanding the territory's overseas trade.
