4. As regards (d), the Governor has not met the "traditional" Chinese community since 1987, at least not in London. reception for this element of the community is therefore overdue. We suggest a mid afternoon reception in Soho, possibly preceded by a visit by Lady Wilson (but not the Governor) to London Chinatown Chinese Community Centre.

As regards (e), this would be interesting and I recommend it unless the Governor has any objections to visiting commercial organisations. If, however, you feel that its inclusion would not leave space for additional and unforeseen demands on Governor's time we can drop it.

As it is only three months since the Governor last spoke to the British Hong Kong Parliamentary Group, a session in March seems unnecessary unless there have been any major developments, issues or crises in the interim which require explanation and discussion. In any case, most MPs have returned to their constituencies by Fiday evening.
