REFERRALS OF APPOINTMENTS TO THE SECRETARY OF STATE: DISCIPLINARY ACTION UNDER CR66
1. As I am sure you are aware, we are also proposing to change the level at which the Secretary of State's approval will be required in disciplinary matters (FCO telno 200 of 29 January refers). At present the Secretary of State's approval is required under CR66. As CR66 (iii) now encompasses the officers in CR66 (i) and (ii), I would be very grateful if you could let me know how many officers are currently on point 34 of the Master Pay Scale (I understand that this is the equivalent of the old point 38). This is information which can usefully be included in my submission to the Secretary of State.
