notice of ordinary election (Form 1) published in the Gazette
under regulation 3 or in the notice of by-election (Form 2) published in the Gazette under regulation 4, as the case may be, in respect of the relevant election) for the holding of a poll ("adjourned poll") in place of the original poll adjourned by a declaration under paragraph (1).
(3) Subject to section 5A (2), 5H (2) or 24 (2) of the Ordinance, the date of the adjourned poll referred to in
paragraph (2) shall be no later than 7 days after the original
date.
(4) Where any original poll is adjourned at the polling station referred to in paragraph (1)
(a)
(b)
polling in respect of the adjourned poll shall
commence on the day to which the original poll
is adjourned at the time or times determined for
the original date; and
references in these regulations to the close of
any poll shall be construed accordingly.
(5) The presiding officer at the polling station who has adjourned the original poll by a declaration under paragraph (1) shall, in the presence of such persons as may be present in that polling station, secure the ballot boxes and the contents contained therein in such manner as he may determine and shall, without counting any ballot papers or votes
(a) deliver the ballot box (as so secured) together
with the unused ballot papers, the spoilt ballot
papers and the marked copies of the register to
the returning officer who shall take such steps
