(b)
For
"senior"
posts, the CPG will demand an
opportunity to scrutinise appointments which
extend beyond 1997; in addition,
(c)
For some "senior"
posts, the CPG will regard
appointments
as related directly to the
resumption of sovereignty and will want the
right to nominate; and, in these cases,
(a) The CPG will arrange matters So that its
appointments appear to be totally independent
of HKG and, thus, exclude at
least
some
pre-1997 incumbents; and
(e) Some pre-1997 "senior"
and
sovereignty-
sensitive posts may be abolished through the
SARG's
administrative restructuring, and their
holders may not be appointed to new Principal
Official posts which the SARG may create.
The
CPG would probably adopt the
following
definitions:
(a) "Senior" posts would include those who occupy
(substantively or on an acting basis) posts
equivalent to Head of
including Deputy Heads); and
Department (thus,
