I was very sad to hear of the death of your husband. Sir Y K made a magnificent contribution to the development of Hong Kong and will always be remembered in this country for his untiring work in bringing Hong Kong, Britain and China closer
together, not least through his tremendous support for the Sino- British Friendship Scheme.
I was so sorry that his illness prevented me from seeing Y K in Hong Kong earlier this month. But he was generous hearted to
the end and it is that quality for which he will be most missed.
