BIOGRAPHICAL ENTRIES
5.3.1
Each entry should follow the pattern below:

Full name.

Present position/occupation and date of appointment.
Non-confidential curriculum vitae, starting with date and place of birth, and
continuing in chronological order, (where the date of birth is not known, "Born c. 1935* is preferable to "Aged about 50′′).

Dates of any official visits to the United Kingdom.

Confidential assessment of career and future prospects.
Information useful to an officer who might meet the subject or his/her spouse including marital status, children, knowledge of English and other languages, attitude towards, and importance to, the United Kingdom.
Each entry should end with the date of preparation or revision, eg "(Revised March 1985)".
Items (e) and (f) above may be omitted or reduced for less important personalities.
Biographical entries should be in a form presentable to Ministers and others (including the Palace). They should go beyond the entries in reference books. They should be factually accurate and sober in tone. Gossip or comments which may be seen as patronising or frivolous should be avoided.
Entries should include information on spouses where possible, including their interests, qualifications and command of languages. Spouses who are personalities in their own right should be covered in a separate entry, cross referenced.

DATES OF REVIEW
5.4.1
Missions should review their LPRs each year according to the following programme:

Posts should ensure that their amended LPRs reach the FCO within one month of the date of the review.
Missions should review their LPRS when important local changes have taken place (eg a change of Government, coup d'etat etc), or when specifically requested by the department.
