special circumstances of Hong Kong. I should emphasise that they do have the right to come to this country with their husbands or wives for settlement at any time, either before or after 1997. While working on the Hong Kong package which the Foreign Secretary has already announced, the Governmentwill consider if any further arrangements under immigration provisions are necessary to protect their position.
I am sorry I cannot be more precise than this for the time being. But an announcement will be made in due course.
