You must have been very relieved, and pleased, with the result of the second reading debate on the Nationality (Hong Kong) Act. Congratulations on such an achievement. Despite unsettling sniping attacks from the Chinese, the politically articulate here have been greatly encouraged by the result and by the tenor of a great many of the speeches.
I know how much political effort all this has meant for HMG and am most grateful for what is being done to help Hong Kong.
