HONG KONG ASSURANCES: LEGISLATION
The Prime Minister has seen the Home Secretary's minute of 27 March in which he recommends the restoration of two categories to the scheme for British citizenship, namely journalists and news editors and health associate professionals. The Prime Minister agrees reluctantly to this, on the clear understanding that there is no increase in total numbers.
I am copying this letter to the Private Secretaries to Members of OD(K), the Legal Secretary to the Law Officers and to Sir Robin Butler.
