on the nationality package. The recent
reports on PRC's hard line on the issue have an unsettling
effect.
This is particularly so if the beneficiaries are
required to serve in Hong Kong beyond 1997. Subject to the
details of the package, it is expected that civil servants'
attention will re-focus on security of pensions and funding
of dependant pensions.

Commission which are expected to be published later this
month.
