DISCIPLINED SERVICES SCHEME
22. [7,000] places will be available for allocation to members of the disciplined services, [6,000) of them on the first round. The services concerned are the Correctional Services Department, Customs and Excise Department, Fire Services Department, Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Air Force, Independent Commission Against Corruption, Immigration Department and Royal Hong Kong Police Force.

The available places will be allocated to the services concerned in proportion to their staff numbers.
24. Within each service places will be allocated to individuals by a points system. The criteria will be similar to those used in the General Allocation Scheme described in paragraph 8 above, although the weighting to be given to each criterion may with the approval of the Steering Group vary to take account of the needs of the particular services. The Steering Group will advise on the allocation of the special circumstances points which will take account of commendations for outstanding service, and documentary evidence of performance, such as staff appraisal reports etc.
Procedures

Applications will be submitted by post to the Governor by a specified date. HKID will undertake the allocation of points according to the agreed
criteria for that service.
26. HKID will then forward, for each service, details of the candidates ranked in order of points scored, to the Steering Group to consider and recommend any necessary adjustments in the special circumstances points for each service. After the award of these points, a revised ranking will be produced and HKID will produce a list of those candidates who appear to be qualified and those who seem likely to be rejected. These two lists will be submitted to the Steering Group for scrutiny.

HKID will then conduct the necessary verification interviews and character checks and submit the list of qualified candidates to the Steering
