Dear Mr Sharpe
I write to remind you of the correspondence re our people in Hong Kong.
As I understand it, the rules for granting of right of abode have still to be finalised. In the meantime we have already lost the services of 2 key employees, Messrs Tang and Kwok who have gone to Australia and New Zealand respectively.
The result is an intolerable strain on our UK technical resources, together with the loss of essential Chinese language communication. Now we are in danger of losing our last remaining Hong Kongese (Lin Mei-Ling) without whom our ability to support Hong Kong and Chinese mainland operations will be irreparably Jamaged. What assistance if any are you able to provide?
