BONAS MACHINE COMPANY LIMITED : HONG KONG ASSURANCES SCHEME
1. Mr Ian Harris, Managing Director of Bonas, was at the Secretary of State's table for lunch in Newcastle last Friday. Mr Harris later gave me copies of correspondence with the Foreign Office and the DTI about his employees in Hong Kong.
2. The Secretary of State would be grateful for advice and a draft letter to send to Mr Harris. I imagine, having glanced at the correspondence, that Bonas' engineers might qualify under the scheme, although of course we could give no guarantees yet about any individual case.
