Appendix II
British Links (Max. 50 points)
(A)
Non-service Factors
5 points may be scored for each of the following factors, up to
a maximum of 20 points.
(i) close relative(s), (i.e. spouse, child, parent, grand-parent,
parent-in-law, sibling) who is a British Citizen, or a
non-British citizen settled in the UK;
(ii) 3-years previous residence in the UK (other than as a
tourist);
(iii) 3 years previous education in the UK or a member of a UK
(iv)
professional body or child/children studying in the UK for
3 years; and
hold investment or property in the UK of a value of not
less than £200,000.
(B)
Service Factors
One point may be scored for each year of service, up to a
maximum of 30 points, in one of the following descriptions:
(i)
"Crown Service", i.e. service to the HKG or service to
HMG (including military service);
(ii)
service designated under the British Nationality Act
(e.g. British Trade Commission, British Council, British
Tourist authority); or
(iii) service in a firm incorporated in the UK [subject to HMG's
decision on definition of a British firm).
