BRITISH COUNCIL EMPLOYEES IN HONG KONG
There have been no developments in negotiations with the Home
Office since the Secretary of State's telephone conversation with
Sir D Orr on 9 January and HKD advise that if the question is raised
at the Board the PUS should simply take the same line.

Line to Take
We have always envisaged that some Council staff might benefit
under the package.
Precise details are under consideration
with the Home Office.
The number of beneficiaries under the scheme is very tight. But we are prepared to consider bids from the Council for
individual memebrs of LE staff.
We can give no firm assurance of numbers at this stage.
