The smooth operation of the second identity
card re-issue exercise depends very much on the public response to the call to come forward to exchange their identity cards and their co-operation to submit the necessary documents. Given that all applicants under the scheme
must be eager to acquire British citizenship, their full co-operation during the process of their applications
is assured.
HKG has the full confidence of administering
the UK nationality package reasonably smoothly.
There
will also be the close monitoring of a high-power Steering
Group which can direct changes of detailed procedures or augmentation of resources, where necessary.
